This box has the traditional "Yosegi" pattern and 27 steps (moves) you will need to execute to achieve the right combination that opens this amazing puzzle box. One of our largest, most complex and challenging boxes.
In order to open a Japanese Puzzle Box, you need to find the first piece (part of the box) you can slide. This action causes other piece of the puzzle to "unlock" and allows you to move them too now. This is kind of a "chain reaction" where each piece you move partially unlocks other piece allowing it to be moved as well, and so on and so forth, so basically each move you execute allows you to execute your next move.
When the right movement combination is achieved, the box will open (meaning you are able to slide the top panel and open the box).
2 things you need to know
1. "Sun" is the measurement of the box - the bigger this value is, the larger the box is.
2. The more steps your puzzle box has means the mechanism is more complex and therefore the box is more challenging and difficult to solve!

Our puzzles and games are handcrafted with care. Most are made in the USA by the Janelle family; some are crafted by friends in Canada, Japan and Mexico and some right here in Albuquerque. Be sure to ask for recommendations.

What is your shipping and returns policy?
We offer free shipping on US orders over $200, typically dispatching within 2 business days, often sooner. For items not immediately available, we'll reach out to discuss your options. Our shipments within the U.S. are primarily through USPS Priority Mail, with UPS for larger packages, aiming for a 2-4 day delivery.
For international shipping inquiries, please contact us directly. We strive for transparency in shipping costs, keeping them close to actual with a minimal handling fee.
